About the founder
Born from a lifelong love of the bush
Yala Royal Safari was started by a local tracker who grew up on the edge of Yala National Park—learning animal behaviour, seasonal patterns, and the unwritten rules of the wilderness long before guiding became a profession.
After years of leading drives for international visitors, the vision was clear: create a safari operation that combines deep field expertise with genuine hospitality—small groups, honest communication, and a standard of care worthy of the landscape itself.
